Everyone is Welcome Here: LGBTQ+ Performance Opportunity
Aberdeen Performing Arts are pleased to offer a performance opportunity for four solo artists who identify as part of the LGBTQ+ community. We invite creatives of all disciplines, including but not limited to music, drag, dance, spoken word and performance art, to send us your proposal for a solo piece of roughly ten minutes which addresses the themes of love, unity and inclusiveness. Selected artists will perform as part of Everyone is Welcome Here, a one-off show at the Lemon Tree in celebration of the city’s blossoming queer creative scene. This event will feature a special ceremony to celebrate and honour the rich cultural offering provided to the city by LGBT+ creatives.
Who are we looking for?
Applicants must identify as part of the LGBT+ community and be resident in, or have a strong connection to, Aberdeen or the North East of Scotland.
Dates & Details
Performance date: Friday 29th September 2023 at the Lemon Tree
Selected artists will be notified by Monday 7th August.
Fee: £150
How Do I Apply?
Please send a short description of your proposed performance (max. 250 words) plus up to 3 relevant examples of your work to hanna.louise@aberdeenperformingarts.com by no later than Monday 24th July. Please ensure your samples give us a good idea of what your proposed performance will be like.
