Too Much Baggage
The gentleman grumbles as he stuffs his bags and stomps out of your carriage and into their own.
Phew.
You close the door behind you and get yourself comfortable for the journey ahead. And what better way to pass the time than to read a good book.
You place the one you swiped during your morning rush onto the table next to your case. Lying it flat on the surface, you flip the latches and open it up in search of your spectacles.
After tipping out the contents of the case to find your glasses you close the pouch from which they were contained in and begin to repack. Only to find it doesn’t all fit. How peculiar? One of these items must not have originally been here in the first place.
Some have already been placed for you. The items cannot be flipped but they can be rotated.
Can you figure out which item was not originally packed in the case?

Hint #1 → You can try and puzzle where each bit fits exactly. But, you might have an easier time simply by counting the blocks.
Hint #2 → If you count the available space left, there’s only 14 available spaces.
Hint #3 → If there’s 14 available spaces and the remaining items amount to 16 blocks, that means you have 2 extra. The red item is worth 2 blocks, meaning that was the one originally not in the case.
