Case #1 - Chapter 6
Receipts
After a long battle with your belongings, you make your way to the restaurant carriage as evening sets.
You spot one of the passengers you helped earlier sitting by themselves as you enter. They look up from their menu and smile in your direction. You nod back, before swivelling into your own seat by the window.
The carriage slowly fills with the other guests and the evening passes peacefully as you enjoy supper.
As you fold your napkin neatly onto the table, one of the train attendants greets you warmly as they hand over the receipt.
You look out some money and hand it back to the attendant.
“Goodness! You could get five more wraps plus a sparkling water to wash it all down!” They reply.
How much change should you expect back?

Hints
Highlight the text below to see the hint.
Hint #1 → You’ll need to figure out the price of five more wraps and a sparkling water, plus your original bill to pay.
Hint #2 → The question isn’t asking how much was paid, but how much change to get in return. Make sure you’ve deducted the original bill.
Hint #3 → If the attendant has said you could afford five MORE wraps AND a sparkling water, it means this total is added onto the original bill of £13. Five wraps would be £35 and a sparkling water would be £2. The total amount that was paid is therefore £50. And to figure out the change, simply deduct the £13 bill from £50 to give you £37 change.
