Charities invited to see Beauty and the Beast pantomime
News – 18 Oct 2021
Spectacular pantomime Beauty and the Beast is set to fill His Majesty’s Theatre with festive cheer this Christmas, and in the spirit of the season, the city theatre is giving away 300 tickets to local community groups and charities to join in the fun.
Aberdeen Performing Arts, who run the theatre, and the producers of the show, Crossroads Pantomimes, are inviting groups to apply for tickets to the Christmas pantomime.
Charities and community groups are invited to apply using the application form on the Aberdeen Performing Arts website for tickets to panto performances on Wednesday, December 8 at 7pm. The deadline for applications is by Friday, October 29 at 5pm.
Those who are successful with their applications will be treated to one of the most romantic pantos of all time as Beauty and the Beast promises to be a spectacular and enchanting production for all the family.
River City actress Joyce Falconer stars in the glittering production alongside ‘Call the Midwife’ star Laura Main, Aberdonian actress Danielle Jam and returning favourites Alan McHugh and Paul James Corrigan, from Saturday 4 December 2021 until 2 January 2022.
Aberdeen Performing Arts Chief Executive Jane Spiers said:
“The His Majesty’s Theatre panto is a magical theatre experience and it is a joy to have a pantomime on stage again this year. We would like to share that excitement with as many people as possible so we are once again extending an offer of tickets for the show to community groups who might not otherwise get to visit the theatre at Christmas.”
Beauty and the Beast will bring with it the hallmark of true Scottish comedy, featuring special effects, plenty of audience participation and a chance for audiences to come together and share the magic of live theatre once again.
The show is being staged by the same team that has produced the HMT panto for the last 17 years, with the usual abundance of comedy, lavish sets, fabulous costumes, and of course a few surprises in store.
