Three brilliant authors share the stage to talk about their books, how they found their place in crime fiction and their influence in leading the way for women’s voices. Ann Cleeves is the author of over thirty critically acclaimed novels and is translated into as many languages. She is the creator of popular detectives Vera Stanhope and Jimmy Perez from TV’s Vera and Shetland series. She is joint by bestselling authors Lin Anderson and Alex Gray, best known for the Rhona MacLeod forensic scientist and Detective William Lorimer series respectively, and for co-founding the Bloody Scotland Crime Writing Festival.

Ann Cleeves
Ann Cleeves is the author of over thirty critically acclaimed novels and is translated into as many languages. Lin Anderson
Lin Anderson is best known as the creator of the forensic scientist Rhona MacLeod series of crime thriller novels, and for her part in founding the annual ‘Bloody Scotland’ crime writing festival, dedicated to promoting Scotland’s other great national export.
Alex Gray
Alex Gray is a Scottish crime writer. She has published 17 novels, all set around Glasgow and featuring the character of Detective Chief Inspector Lorimer and his psychological profiler Solomon Brightman. Alex began writing professionally in 1993 and had immediate success with short stories, articles and commissions for BBC radio programmes.
