About the authors
A.J. West
A.J. West was born in Buckinghamshire and not comprehensively educated at a comprehensive school in Newport Pagnell. Growing up, his parents, who were teachers, read him stories by Blyton, Milne, Dahl, Lewis, Lawrence and Graham and he found a passion for old-fashioned tales that mixed fear and fun. He went on to study English Literature at university in Preston, Lancashire then went on to work as a radio and television producer, news presenter and journalist at the BBC in London. He later became the first openly gay TV newsreader in Northern Ireland. While in Belfast, he discovered William Jackson Crawford’s harrowing story of hubris. West has since written a gripping novel based on William’s paranormal investigations.
Helen Sedgwick
Helen Sedgwick is the author of The Comet Seekers (Harvill Secker 2016), The Growing Season (Harvill Secker 2017) and The Burrowhead Mysteries crime trilogy (Point Blank, 2020-2022). She has won a new writers award and been shortlisted for the Saltire Society Fiction Book of the Year. Prior to becoming a writer, she worked as a research scientist and has a PhD in Physics from Edinburgh University. She lives in the highlands with her partner, their daughter, and an ever-increasing number of chickens. Gavin Wallace Fellowship awardee 2021.
Rosie Andrews
Rosie Andrews was born and grew up in Liverpool, the third of twelve children. She studied history at Cambridge before becoming an English teacher. She lives in Hertfordshire with her husband and daughter. The Leviathan is her debut novel.
