Light The Blue 2025: Olive and Anya’s Itch
Join Olive and Anya for a night of storytelling, imagination and debauchery, with a showcase of experimental original work from local performance artists across the city. Challenged to create new material in just 24 hours inspired by the theme ‘into the unknown’, artists from a range of disciplines will present the fruits of their labour in a cabaret-style scratch night. Join us for an evening of imagination, innovation and experimentation, hosted by the medically professional duo Olive and Anya.
This event is the culmination of 86400 Seconds with Olive and Anya, a participatory project which invites emerging performance artists from across the city to join the duo in creating experimental new material in just 24 hours.
Meet Olive and Anya
Brought together by giant magnets, Claudia Sneddon and Joey Morris’ practice uses speculative fiction and dramaturgy in performance and video. Using costuming, props, and setting, they adopt different personas, often transforming into their amorphous drag alter egos, Olive Sudden and Anya Rhythm, while utilising dysfunction as an art form.

Light the Blue is our multi-artform festival for and by young people returning 1st – 15th June 2025 with a programme of theatre, music, dance, film, visual arts and more taking place across Aberdeen city.
With over 25 events across 15 days, this year’s festival invites artists and audiences to step into the unknown – with stories being told in new and exciting ways on our stages as well as unusual indoor and outdoor locations.
Light the Blue offers something for everyone – whether you’re a young person, a family or interested in seeing work in the early stages of development. Join us in June for an unmissable fortnight of creativity, conversation and connection.
