Sense of Wonder
All or Nothing Aerial Dance Theatre with Fusion Youth Dance Company
- 08 Sep–11 Sep 2022
- Aberdeen City Centre
Overview
Sense of Wonder
All or Nothing and Fusion Youth Dance Company join forces to create an aerial dance spectacle inspired by the cityscape of Aberdeen.
Playing with our sense of wonder, we step forward into another world, relating the old world of Aberdeen alongside the new. Moving from one world to another, what can be made possible in our dreams? We take our feet off the floor and soar, exploring these possibilities and the wonder within them, scaling the heights of Broad Street, animating an iconic part of the city.
Combining aerial circus with contemporary dance, All or Nothing artists have been working with the dancers from City Moves’ Fusion Youth Dance. Training them in aerial dance techniques over the past 2 months, the performers have been creating choreography in aerial hoop and harness, in the air and on the floor.
Collaborating and creating together for this specially commissioned performance, Sense of Wonder begins with the performers together on giant structure, as they weave through each other on their own path, circling, leaping and spinning into the air. Prepare to be wowed with performers flying low across the ground to aerialists swinging 80 feet into the air suspended from a crane.
Join us and take flight with one of the highlights of weekend!

About the Artist
All or Nothing are Scotland’s leading aerial dance company creating, performing, teaching and pioneering aerial arts in Scotland. Their work combines aerial arts with dance theatre and contemporary circus.
With performances ranging from small scale theatre to large scale outdoor spectacle, All or Nothing have toured extensively across Scotland, creating their own theatrical works for touring as well as developing aerial elements for events. The company have performed on main stages, village halls, schools and festivals such as DanceLive and Edinburgh Fringe. All or Nothings outdoor performance has included hanging from boats, buildings and cranes, flying through forests, across lochs and dancing on iconic landmarks.
In the past year they have toured across the country with our outdoor work for families, The Swings. In 2020 their aerial dance film Floor Falls, in collaboration with Cagoule Productions premiered at Screen Dance Scotland, hosted by Citymoves, and has so far screened at 25 film festivals worldwide.
Participation is vital to the company’s work, believing that aerial and dance is for everyone, developing all kinds of opportunities for this to happen. ll or Nothing constantly challenge assumptions of who can do aerial, opening up the artform to as many people as possible, developing audiences and participants.
