FAQs
Is the Queer Arts Festival for everyone?
While the festival is programmed and designed around the LGBTQ+ community, allies and friends are most welcome to enjoy all that’s on offer across the festival. Queer stories are human stories, and we welcome everyone to share in this collective celebration.
What is your intention behind using the word queer?
We consciously and thoughtfully include the word queer to contribute to a positive reclamation of the term, recognising a complex, courageous and inclusive LGBTQ+ history while representing a broad sense of community.

Aberdeen Queer Arts Festival 2026 was the first of its kind for Aberdeen Performing Arts. There was a fabulous mix of cabaret, comedy, music, panel discussions, workshops and a community open stage. It was a joyful weekend spent uplifting voices and celebrating the freedom to express, connect, and create.
