Office Scramble
Mateo, with a slight bow gestures into the room, “And here is the lovely office space you’ll be sharing with all of us.”
Two rows of back-to-back desks lie in the middle of the room with a little corner off to the side for coffees and tea.
“The adjoining room is Linda’s. I’ll take you back to her in a bit, but here’s-“ Mateo cuts himself off and peers into Linda’s room.
He’s over there within a couple of strides and whips the door open. Another heated argument begins as you stay fixed to your spot.
“That’ll be Rob again.” A stranger’s voice startles you.
Someone from behind their monitor straightens their back and yawns.
Arms stretched, he says, “Newbie, huh? Ron here. Don’t get me confused with that other psycho in there.” He jabs his thumb at the room.
Your shift uncomfortably at the entrance to the office space.
“They do this all the time, don’t sweat it. You’ll get used to it in no time.” Ron waves dismissively.
“So, you and I are far away from Linda. Mateo and Linda can monitor Rob from where they’re sitting. And I have the best vantage point on all things snacks. Leaving you over there.” Ron points to a desk.
